Tonight, under the historic lights of the century-old Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis will pursue his first attempt at title unification. Standing in his way is Eimantas Stanionis, arriving fully prepared to play spoiler. The Matchroom-DAZN card promises more than just the main event. It’s packed with undercard excitement. After delivering last year’s ‘Fight of the Year,’ Raymond Ford returns to face Thomas Mattice. Welterweight top contender Shakhram Giyasov looks to climb further with a ten-round clash against Franco Maximiliano Ocampo.
But what adds even more intrigue to this night is the appearance of two rising prospects, each stepping into the pro ring for only the second time. On one side, we have Olympian Omari Jones, who debuted last month on the Austin Williams–Patrice Volny undercard. On the other, Newark’s own and Shakur Stevenson‘s cousin, Zaquin Moses, will square off against Alex Pallette in a four-round bout. Interestingly, Moses made his pro debut on a Boots Ennis card last November, when the latter faced Karen Chukhadzhian in his second title defense. As we anticipate Moses’ next outing, let’s take a closer look at how he and Alex Pallette stack up against each other.

Predicting Zaquin Moses vs. Alex Pallette: Who has better stats and record?
When comparing their stats, it’s important to acknowledge the early stage of their careers. Zaquin Moses, only 19 years old, is a newcomer to the professional scene. But he brings a decorated amateur background. Since beginning his amateur journey in 2020, Moses racked up a number of wins. The most notable is a split decision victory over Curmel Moton, the rising star and Floyd Mayweather protege.

Moses made his professional debut on November 9, 2024, against journeyman Michael Ruiz. He secured a comfortable unanimous decision victory over four rounds. Following the well-worn path advised to most young boxers – stay active, stay sharp – Moses stepped into the ring again just two months later.
And this time, he made a statement.
On the Diego Pacheco–Steven Nelson undercard, Moses faced Mexico’s Mario Garcia and dismantled him in the very first round. Now, with another two-month turnaround, Moses is ready for his third professional bout and his second of the year.
What’s your perspective on:
Can Zaquin Moses live up to his cousin Shakur Stevenson's legacy, or will he carve his own path?
Have an interesting take?
In contrast, Alex Pallette brings a bit more age and professional experience to the table. The 29-year-old Bayamon, Puerto Rico native also turned pro in 2024. Remaining active, he logged four fights. However, his outcomes have been less than inspiring. Apart from his debut win over William Guzman-Ortiz, Pallette suffered defeats in all subsequent matches. His bout against Moses will also mark his first time fighting in the mainland United States.
So on paper, it’s a clash between a promising young southpaw, barely out of his teens, and a late-blooming fighter seeking redemption. Moses has two wins, one by knockout, giving him a 50% KO rate. Pallette has a single win, which was by knockout, so his KO-to-win ratio stands at 100%. However, that lone win must be weighed against his three losses.
Stats never tell the full story, though. Let’s dig a bit deeper.
Zaquin Moses vs. Alex Pallette Mattice: height, weight, reach comparison, and more
Physically, Pallette holds a slight edge. At 5 feet 11 inches or 180 centimeters, he stands a couple of inches taller than the 5-foot-9-inch or 175-centimeter Moses. Reach information isn’t publicly available for either fighter. Provided he can effectively control distance, the height difference may allow Pallette to fight from range.
As for weight, Moses came in at 130.3 pounds for his last bout against Garcia. Pallette, meanwhile, weighed 127.3 pounds in January when he faced Ellison Rivera. Both fighters appear to be competing around the super featherweight range. But given that he carries more muscle and strength in his frame, Moses may have a potential advantage in close exchanges.
Fight Prediction
Zaquin Moses enters this fight as a clear favorite. With betting odds ranging between 1/100 and 1/33, he’s being given a staggering 97% implied chance of victory. In contrast, Palette’s 15/1 and 16/1 odds suggest a long-shot bid for the upset.

And truthfully, it’s hard to see anything but a Moses win here. But that doesn’t mean the bout is meaningless. Rather far from it. For a young fighter trying to follow in the footsteps of his world champion cousin, staying active, collecting wins, and learning from every round are crucial steps. This is another opportunity for Moses to refine his craft, test his composure, and deliver a clean, confident performance.
Most importantly, it’s a platform to correct small mistakes and build momentum. During a DAZN interview last year, Stevenson himself pointed out that Moses still has things to work on. “Honestly, there’s a lot that I could tweak,” said Stevenson before adding, “He looked real good; he looked sharp, but there’s a lot that we’re going to work on when we get back to the gym. It’s the footwork I want to work on a little bit, trying to position himself in the right spots to be able to get the shots that he’s looking for.”

Against Pallette, Moses should be able to stay composed, control the pace, and work on those refinements. If all goes well, this should be another solid step for Moses. Beyond just being Shakur Stevenson’s cousin, he will have to carve out his own identity in the sport. He’ll need to prove he can win consistently, handle pressure, and, eventually, take on real tests at higher levels.
What do you think of the matchup? Should Moses take on another 4-rounder next, or is it time for a 6-round test?
