In a recent video on his Instagram account, the former two-time Heavyweight champion can be seen preaching wise words. He claimed that without sacrifice, a man cannot succeed. Moreover, according to him discipline was sacrificing everything for your goal and doing things you hate like you love them and a man’s biggest opponent is himself.

If there is anything in life you want to accomplish especially your sport. I’ve learned from my mentor Cus D’Amato. It’s all about sacrifice, discipline. You’ve to sacrifice whatever you love. You love this girl you love these friends you hang out with, sacrifice them. It’s your will cause your will will be tested. That’s what a man’s biggest challenge is, not his opponent but himself,” said Tyson

Tyson had to sacrifice his personal life to maintain his career. This meant spending long periods of time away from his family and loved ones, as he traveled the world to compete in matches. It was a lonely and often difficult existence, but one that Tyson felt was necessary if he wanted to be the best.

‘Iron’ Mike was plagued with a lot of personal issues during the 1990s at the peak of his career. However, even though he was not in the best of personal spaces, he bounced back and regained his Heavyweight championships despite all the drama unfolding around him. In a Tweet, he once claimed that to become a champion he had to be beaten a couple of times.
