Since then despite several rumors of his return nothing came to be as he stayed out of the ring, using the much-needed break to address his mental health issues. However, the boxing world was left shocked as the news came out that ‘Hitman’ would be facing Canelo Alvarez next. But it turns out that it will be his brother who will be fighting Alvarez instead of him, though he recently revealed that he backed out so that both brothers can make money fighting the Mexican icon.

As the time for the bout between Jermell Charlo and Alvarez is almost upon us, it seems, the bigger Charlo might be facing somebody else now. People thought that after getting slapped by Caleb Plant , the older Charlo brother would be fighting the former champion. However as it turns out, Charlo might just fight against the older brother of David Benavidez, Jose Benavidez Jr. He recently joined the ranks of the 160-pound weight category after his victory against Sladan Janjanin.

Speculations are rife that the Jermall Charlo fight might be included in the Benavidez vs. Demetrius Andrade undercard in November. Moreover, ‘the Mexican Monster is looking forward to his brother defeating Charlo so that he can discredit ‘Hitman’ as a valid opponent for Alvarez. However, one fan stated that the boxer needs to make a strong return to the ring. He shared his support for the fighter as he wrote, “I’m rooting for him! He’s a great fighter.”

Another fan brought ‘Iron Man’ into the conversation and stated that he shouldn’t be fighting against Canelo at 168. Furthermore, he wrote, “Fighters gotta put in the work. Don’t matter if they a champ in another weight class.”

Meanwhile, someone else mocked the brother’s trademark “Lions Only”. He also called out Charlo on his previous statement about not needing a tune-up and called it a “bunch of lies.”

Someone else questioned Charlo about why he wasn’t fighting Caleb Plant next after getting slapped by the boxer. He asked, “Jermall you’re gonna let a man slap you straight across the face and not make him your next fight?”
