Seven years ago, one of boxing’s greatest accomplished a memorable feat. Andre Ward, who had been a unified super middleweight champion, took over as a unified light heavyweight champion on November 19, 2016. Unfortunately, the fight is remembered for an entirely different reason. Though “Son of God” won the fight unanimously, many felt that his opponent, Sergey Kovalev, was the rightful winner. A feeling of bitterness engulfed the fight, which entered the almanac of notoriety.

S.O.G. becomes a two-division champion.” Dan Rafael soon added, “The night Kovalev got robbed.” It would be self-deceptive to think André Ward would have left it as it is.
