Conor Benn has been very vocal about the criticism he has received following his failed drug test. The 26-year-old boxer recently failed a VADA drug test, causing his legacy fight against Chris Eubank Jr. to get postponed. He tested positive for clomifene, which is a banned substance by the World Anti-Doping agency.

Benn has been under a lot of criticism from the media and the boxing world who have called for his ban from the sport. However, Benn has been dismissive about the criticism and is confident that he is not guilty of cheating. Moreover, he has been firing back at the critics on social media through a bunch of posts on how the media is twisting the narrative against him.
Benn recently quoted a human rights activist Malcolm X in his Instagram story. The quote read, “The media is the most powerful entity on Earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” However, boxing promoter Lou Di Bella called out Benn for associating himself with Malcolm X.
Lou Di Bella sounds off on Conor Benn
Di Bella stated that Ben’s issue was not related to civil rights. Thus, he was misusing the quote and taking it out of context. “Get. The. Entitled. Delusional. F**k. Out. Of. Here. Whether you cheated or not isn’t a civil rights issue. What a frivolous, pathetic, misuse of a Malcolm X quote. Your blood lit up for a banned substance!! NO ONE PERSECUTED YOU.” he wrote in a tweet.

It looks like Benn’s handling of such a sensitive issue has put him under fire from a lot of people. However, his sample is currently being investigated by the UKAD, the governing doping agency for the bout and they have yet to publish their findings.
If Benn is found guilty of violating any rules, he could possibly face a ban of up to four years putting his bout against Eubank Jr in jeopardy. Moreover, UKAD’s chief executive Jane Rumble released a statement last Thursday calling out anyone who might have information regarding this to come forward.
