Anthony Taylor defeated King Kenny in a lackluster boxing match in the KSI vs Tommy Fury undercard on 14th October. Judges unanimously scored the fight 49-45, crowning Taylor the new Misfits Boxing light-heavyweight champion. Despite this, the crowd found the match boring. Taylor started the first round aggressively, aiming for his signature overhand right. King Kenny countered by clinching, neutralizing Taylor’s attacks. Taylor dominated the opening round but failed to land any clean hits. In the second round, Taylor successfully hit King Kenny with a leaping left hook and followed with some solid right straights.
The round, however, devolved into more clinching, with Taylor overreaching and King Kenny stifling his efforts. In the third round, Taylor fell from a low blow, eliciting boos from the audience at the AO Arena. The match was losing its appeal. Before the fourth round, King Kenny’s corner gave him a stern talking-to, which seemed to ignite some energy in him, but alas, nothing could stop the inevitable. Less than a week after the bout, Anthony Taylor has made a bold proclamation. In his regard, he is the “Mayweather” of influencer boxing. However, fans angered by the comparison gave him a reality check.

One fan dubbed it the “King of the clinch,” highlighting the excessive clinching in the match.
