There has been no progress in Jake Paul and Mike Tyson’s battle thus far. The two were supposed to face each other on July 20th, but it had to be postponed as the veteran boxer suffered an ulcer flare-up. Following the deferment of the match, several conversations have been going on about who might be the right choice to replace Tyson.

Of late, Paul took to X and claimed that his rival Youtuber turned boxer, KSI, is gearing up for a fight. Interestingly, Paul dropped the name of KSI’s opponent putting KSI in a difficult position. Take a look at how the social media banter shifted tangents at certain points.

‘The Problem Child’ and KSI have been bitter rivals since they both made their boxing debut in 2018. The two often engage in social media sally trying to thrash each other. During a similar repartee between the two recently, out of nowhere, Jake Paul dropped British boxer Amir Khan’s name as KSI’s next opponent. He wrote, “KSI vs Amir Khan I fu** with. Good entertainment.”

The banter quickly took a different turn when Amir Khan replied to Paul with a Drago dialogue from Rocky IV, “If he dies, he dies. Then fu** @jakepaul up.”

Even Paul had a response ready as he mentioned that he would “splatter” Khan in the same way that Breidis Prescott did, giving Khan his first loss in his professional boxing career. The Disney star wrote, “You will kill the forehead if you actually take it serious. Then we can run it in February and I’m going to splatter you like Prescott”

In the meantime, several names are being tossed around as a substitute for ‘Iron Mike’ so that boxing fans are not let down on July 20th.

The most feasible approach to replace Mike Tyson

The Paul vs. Tyson bout was expected to be a big event because of the huge popularity of the two fighters. It was going to be a one-of-a-kind event as Netflix was going to stream its first live boxing fight. However, due to Tyson’s ‘medical emergency’, the 57-year-old has been asked to indulge in minimal training, thus holding up the fight. In the midst of this, a new prospect is in the pipeline for the event.

Jake Paul took to X and wrote, “KSI’s coach saying he is over 200lbs right now? So no weight excuses…Let’s run it for July 20th and then Paul Tyson in October / November.”

Apparently, KSI and Paul were supposed to go against each other last year. But ‘The Problem Child’ went up against former UFC star Nate Diaz in August 2023. For years, fans have been anticipating the matchup between Paul and KSI. And with the way things are going right now, there’s a good chance of this fight taking place.

The 27-year-old Ohio native has two possible opponents as of now, KSI and Amir Khan. But he always tries to challenge the biggest fighters in the field. With Paul still trying to figure out an opponent, July 20th is coming closer with each passing day. Only time will tell how this situation plays out, and who Jake Paul finally faces inside the ring.
