The newly minted champion who holds four belts wasn’t too pleased because his win was being downplayed. What’s more, Teofimo also shared his views on decisions in the sport of boxing and how it affected the narrative.
“Right now, honestly, people are more in shock about what I did and how easy I made it look compared to what they thought it would be. I think the fact that they’re tryna downsize or downplay any type of thing, making it seem like it’s a draw.
“That’s the thing I hate about decisions is that everyone has an opinion about the decision and the scorecards. Now the scorecards are outta my hands. But what I do, though, is what I do. Everyone knows that the winner was me.”
“We’ve made history”
“El Brooklyn continued to hit out at the conversation surrounding scorecards. He also emphasized on the fact that the media and other fighters should be thankful for the way he opened a new avenue as a 23-year-old.
“Whether people wanna talk about the scorecards, that’s not my job. I did my part. So if they wanna scream or bi**h about somebody else, do it to the judges if you want… I said we were gonna come out victorious and we did that.

“We’ve made history, so I think that’s the main thing. Don’t downplay the fact that I just made some big things happen now. I just put on for the new generation so if anything, instead of trying to curse at me or bash me you should be thanking me. That goes to everyone.”
Teofimo Lopez’s complicated relationship with the media continues to grow based on the way he believes he’s being covered. However, there is no debate as to the fact that his win over Vasyl Lomachenko will chart new terrain in his career.
