Numerous reports suggest that an in-flight Mike Tyson faced a medical emergency. Subsequently, paramedical staff attended to him. It appears that he has been responding well. Millions of fans probably faced anxiety-ridden moments, trying to get some piece of information on their icon’s well-being. More so, because the development unfolds in the backdrop of his upcoming fight against YouTube-turned-boxer Jake Paul on July 20.

In fact, the news must have raised questions in several minds over the fight’s relevancy. Mike Tyson will be 58 by the time he enters the ring at AT&T Stadium. The sheer age gap of 30 years plus his opponent’s ring activity were already big-time concerns. As it appears, ‘Iron’ Mike’s alert also led to Rick Glaser being a little worried. The New York State Boxing Hall of Fame (NYSBHOF) matchmaker promptly called out that the youngest heavyweight boxing champion shouldn’t participate in fights anymore.

Tagging Mike Tyson, Jake Paul, and the Texas Boxing Commission, Rick Glaser said, “#MikeTyson shouldn’t be fighting any longer against anyone, including #JakePaul.” Then he checked with the authorities to see if they needed any further proof of why Tyson shouldn’t be inside the ring.

Finally, he marked ‘The Problem Child’. Calling it a ‘travesty’, the New York matchmaker exhorted that the Youtuber-turned boxer should feel embarrassed now. Then Glaser called out the Ohioan to respond back suitably. The post has been witnessing a myriad mix of responses ever since it has been up on X. Given the money-making prospects for all the parties involved, some appear to believe that there shouldn’t be a problem with the fight. A few reasoned that the bout would anyhow be a diluted version, hence not to be taken seriously.

The day before yesterday, on a Miami-Los Angeles flight, Mike Tyson reported being ‘nauseous and dizzy’ on account of an aggravated ulcer. The concern seemingly emerged some half an hour before the flight was supposed to reach the destination. Thankfully, paramedics were available on the flight. The former world champion subsequently reported rebounding on a positive note.

That being said, this wouldn’t be the first time the ‘Iron’ Mike had scores of fans worried.

When the world caught sight of a wheelchair-bound Mike Tyson

Two years ago, news of the boxing great being taken around in a wheelchair at the Miami airport gained considerable traction. Afflicted with back-related issues, in New York, it seems, some fans saw Tyson walking with a stick.

Sharing why he had to use the wheelchair later, Mike Tyson revealed that he suffered from sciatica. What is that? According to the Cleveland Clinic’s website, “Sciatica happens when irritation, inflammation, pinching, or compression affect one or more nerves that run down your lower back and into your legs.” The website mentioned that the condition may not be serious or life-threatening, with most of those suffering recovering with time. However, severe cases could warrant surgery.

But despite such medical problems, the former world champion continued with a fitness regime that may put a man half his age to shame. In fact, in a recent interview, he revealed the extent to which he had been going to prepare himself against ‘The Problem Child’.
