Former cruiserweight challenger and now Jake Paul‘s trainer, BJ Flores, appears to have some reservations about the much-anticipated fight between KSI and Amir Khan taking place. But then maybe he should have kept those to himself. Probably, things could have been different had he kept his thoughts to himself.
Flores’s post on X soon witnessed a trickle of reactions from users. Seemingly, they weren’t too happy with his observations on Amir Khan. Flores often uploads commentaries on the latest happenings in boxing. To some fans, he is a former title challenger who frequently presents a nuanced interpretation of specific news stories. But this time, not many appeared willing to buy his take on one of the most famous names in recent boxing history.

“Amir was excellent at 140 lbs. and very good at 147 lbs. in 2008–2014. High skill level/speed which is the first to go with age,” said BJ Flores. He was responding to another post on X that mentioned how Amir Khan was ahead on the scorecards during fights against Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford until the two world champions knocked him out. So he basically might offer a tough resistance to KSI, the message read.
Amir Khan was winning on points up until he got knocked out in the Crawford/Canelo fights. He is a very serious opponent for JJ.
When KSI knocks him out, don’t ever tell me he can’t beat Usyk again. pic.twitter.com/CB2hzUwOSE

“When KSI knocks him out, don’t ever tell me he can’t beat Usyk again,” the post from @thefan763922 concluded. However, BJ Flores didn’t seem too impressed. According to him, it is a battle of weights. The fact remains that for his speed and skill, ‘King’ Khan remains a slightly built boxer.
Hence, it’s doubtful whether he would be able to fight KSI, who, at roughly 185 pounds, outweighs Amir Khan’s natural fighting weight by 40 pounds! However, in the end, he still carries around a lot of goodwill across the boxing world. “Still a very good name, but a small guy,” said BJ Flores.
BJ Flores and the Way the World Understands Boxing
But some of the fans weren’t too pleased. They stressed that for all his so-called disadvantages, Amir Khan is eventually facing someone whose credentials barely match what he has done in boxing.
Seemingly annoyed, this user said that in the end, the match is between a legendary boxer and a person who is relatively new to the sport.
But we’re talking about one of the greatest boxers of all time versus a novice?!?!?

On similar lines, this user emphasized that Amir Khan would be fighting a YouTuber-turned-boxer and someone like Dmitry Bivol.
He’s gonna fight a youtuber, not Bivol. Stfu you bald fuck

But then this boxing enthusiast stated matter-of-factly that BJ Flores may not be the most qualified person to talk about the subject. Even if he has a ton of information.
Doesn’t matter how much facts you state, you’re not one to talk about this subject BJ! Respectfully

The next user appeared quite angry as they told BJ Flores to just tone it down completely.
Shut the fuck up

This user, however, seemed to agree with the former cruiserweight challenger. According to them, Amir Khan’s famous skill with speed could be the deciding factor against KSI when they fight.

After the controversial fight against Joe Fournier, KSI fought Tommy Fury in October last year. The bout ended in a defeat, his first since entering the crossover boxing scene in 2019. Amir, on the other hand, finally hung his gloves after the sixth-round loss to rival Kell Brooks in February 2022.

BJ Flores’s views could also be interpreted subtly. He certainly has the requisite authority to dive in and review specific details. Will KSI would be willing to meet Amir Khan at a catchweight? If he does, it could mean losing what could probably be his biggest advantage over the former world champion. In terms of sheer skill level and pedigree, the Olympic silver medalist stands is on a different level. But then comes December 8, and the Bolton, Manchester-born boxer will be celebrating his 38th birthday.
