Critics have been analyzing the way Anthony Joshua has been behaving ahead of his fight for the weekend. Lately, folks have picked up on how quiet, curt, and direct the fighter has been in his interviews. To these critics, Derek Chisora says, “Shut the f*** up.”

On the 23rd of December, a grand card is stacked at the Kingdom Arena of Riyadh. On it, locating his third fight for the year is Anthony Joshua against his Swedish opponent, Otto Wallin. With just days remaining for the fight, the fighters, promoters, and people in attendance have descended on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. At the press conference for the event, multiple questions were posed to AJ. Looking at his responses, most believed he was rather sobering. Now, defending him, heavyweight Chisora, came down heavily on those who wrote negatively about AJ.

Traveling on the streets of Riyadh, ‘War’ was joined by Kugan Cassius from iFL TV in his car for a quick conversation. In the tête-à-tête, the reporter asked Chisora what he thought about the way AJ has been giving his interviews lately, and how the media has been covering it. Little did Cassius know that the question would trigger Chisora. Irked by the negative reportage AJ has received so far, Chisora asked his critics to not write anything about him, if all they have had to say is negative things about him.

Furthermore, the fighter, who is coming off his unanimous decision victory over Gerald Washington, said, “You never want to see anybody do amazing. You always want to write something sh*t about somebody. You know, the kid is doing amazing for himself and his family.” He extended this defense to critics of Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder too. He further suggested to those who negatively spoke of these fighters, “If you think you can do a better job, just f*cking strap up the f*cking gloves and do it yourselves. If you can’t, shut the f*ck up.”

Oh, to be in the car, with a fuming Derek Chisora. Risky. Joining him in defense of AJ is the latter’s long-standing rival Deontay Wilder. He asked the media to back off of AJ, and let the English fighter do his thing.

Deontay Wilder supports AJ at open workout session

At the open workout session for the ‘Day of Reckoning’ card, AJ did the unthinkable. Instead of showing off his prowess, he let rising fighters enjoy the limelight for once. Present at the event was Wilder who had just wrapped his segment. The fighter is featured on the same card as AJ in a fight against Joseph Parker.

Anyways, while AJ was doing his thing at the event, Wilder was busy speaking to Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promo. While at it, he asked the media to give AJ a breather from the relentless flak that he receives. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ remarked, “Y’all put a lot of pressure on this man. I wish everybody would back off him until he fights.”
