Deontay Wilder is undoubtedly the current generation’s knockout king and has 41 KOs to his name. The former champion is one of the most brutal boxers in history and is a modern-day great.

Recently, Joe Rogan shared a story of Wilder and talked about how he knocked the soul out of an entertaining boxer, Charlie Zelenoff.

Zelenoff is famous for competing with people in local gyms for a boxing match or a sparring session. However, challenging the ‘Bronze Bomber’ turned out to be one of the worst decisions of his life, as Wilder taught him an unforgettable lesson.

When Charlie Zelenoff faced Deontay Wilder

Like always, Zelenoff was confident about sparring with someone in the gym, and therefore, he challenged Wilder to a brawl. However, things went awry for Zelenoff this time. ‘The Bronze Bomber‘ pounced on him like a beast while sparring.

Joe Rogan shared his views about this incident with Ph Ranker. He said, “You know who beat the f**k out of him (Charlie Zelenoff) in a gym? Deontay Wilder! Deontay Wilder’s wild! Well, Deontay is one of the hardest punchers of all time.”

During the sparring session, Zelenoff dropped to the floor, but he took the courage to stand up against Wilder and fight him once again before Wilder dropped him with a powerful left hook, which not only stunned him but also others present over there. Consequently, Zelenoff forfeited the sparring session, realizing it was not his cup of tea to challenge a hard-hitting boxer like Deontay Wilder.

While talking more about Wilder’s power-hitting abilities, Rogan said,” You know Deontay, before he lost to Tyson Fury, He had, I believe it was 39 victories by knockout out of 40 fights. He was undefeated. 39 by knockout.” 

Rogan describes Wilder’s unbelievable record to his name, which makes him one of the most fearful boxers of all time.

Deontay Wilder is prominently known for his knockout abilities. Apart from Zelenoff, he has knocked around 91.11% of his opponents brutally in his professional bouts, with 20 of them coming in the first round.

While Joe Rogan relives Wilder’s crazy moment from the past, Zelenoff might not want to remember his experience with the power puncher and will reconsider before challenging a professional boxer ever again.
