Did Logan Paul earn your respect after Mike Tyson's high praise for his fight against Mayweather?

Logan Paul earned his bragging rights when he fought boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout on June 6, 2021, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. His ego got a massive boost when he was able to survive the entire six rounds with one of the greatest boxers in the history of ‘sweet science’. Although the fight had no judges, and therefore no official winner, Mayweather would have been declared the victor if the fight was scored as he outboxed ‘The Maverick’.

If the moral victory of standing his ground against the 50-0 boxer wasn’t enough, Paul got another stamp of approval for his performance against ‘TBE’ by the heavyweight legend Mike Tyson. Seemingly, a significant strike landed by the Youtuber-turned-boxer-turned-WWE star on a pugilist touted as the greatest defensive boxer alive deserves praise from Mike Tyson’s perspective.

Victory in defeat?

In the recent episode of the podcast Impaulsive, Mike Tyson had a fun time conversing with the Impaulsive cast, which included Logan Paul, and his co-host Mike Majlak. Midway through the conversation, Logan and Jake Paul’s father, Greg Paul, joined in. At one point in time amid the free-flowing discussion that was taking place, the proud father of the Paul brothers stated, “If I would have looked 30 years ago, and said my son, one of my sons [Jake Paul], is gonna be fighting Mike Tyson, I’d be like ‘What the f**k are you talking about?” For those unversed, Jake Paul will be fighting Mike Tyson on November 14 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Nevertheless, Impaulsive co-host Mike Majlak interjected and reminded Greg about another significant bout that took place in 2021 involving Logan Paul. Majlak highlighted, “Your other son fought Floyd Mayweather as well!”, reminding Greg that Jake Paul wasn’t the only one capable of attracting high-profile bouts. Then, Tyson took this moment to dish out praise for the 29-year-old WWE star — “You hurt Floyd’s nose. You know like, during the fight, when he was holding his nose…..he was like rubbing his nose, you hurt Floyd’s nose.”

Buoyed by Tyson’s admiration of his boxing prowess on fight night, Logan Paul further claimed that he “popped” Mayweather’s “eardrum”. “Yeah I got him on the ear once.. solid punch, got him good. And I’m not even as good as Jake,” he said proudly.

Well, that’s all the brownie points Logan Paul could gather from the Floyd Mayweather fight. One look at the punch stats from the fight would give you a clear winner. According to Compubox, Mayweather landed 43 punches out of 107 thrown (40.2%), compared to Paul’s 28 landed out of 217 thrown (12.9%).

Legal dispute!

Logan Paul revealed to TMZ Sports back in 2022 that he was still owed millions in pay-per-view revenue from ‘Money’ Mayweather for their exhibition bout in 2021.“We’re taking this one to court. See you in the courtroom. Congrats on going to prison, Floyd,” Paul told TMZ.

Furthermore, in a documentary series with Graham Bensinger, Paul stated that the lawsuit was worth “$1 and $3 million”. Delving deeper into the allegations against Mayweather, he stated, “Deals were done using my name and likeness where cash was paid out without me taking part and eating from the plate and was done behind my back without my permission using everything I’ve built.”

Logan Paul was convinced that he would win the lawsuit and get his fair share from the exhibition fight. “My gut tells me that he’s going to pay me upwards of $2 million in one way or another,” Paul told Graham Bensinger.
