With his fierce persona inside the ring and his eccentric personality outside, former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson, can undoubtedly be considered one of the biggest pop culture icons of the 1990s. On the other hand, actor and comedian, Eddie Murphy, is yet another individual who is equally, if not more, iconic. While his prowess in acting and comedy is a known fact, Tyson recently revealed that he had heard Murphy singing. This revelation, however, made comedian, Tommy Davidson, gasp in disbelief.

Davidson was recently a guest at the Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast, hosted by Tyson himself. Moreover, DJ Whoo Kid was also present as the co-host guest for the episode.

In conversation, Davidson mentioned that he was successfully dabbling in music. And also added that he was specializing in jazz music. This was when Tyson revealed, “Eddie has good music out too. Eddie Murphy.”

From his expressions, there was no denying that Davidson was surprised to learn that Murphy made music. Tyson further continued, “I heard it in Dubai. Well, they told me that it was Eddie Murphy.” Davidson finally found his footing, and responded by saying, “Well, you have to hear that to believe that.” It should be mentioned that Murphy has been an active singer since the 1980s. And also has three albums under his belt.

Tommy Davidson tells Mike Tyson about Jim Carrey

While Tyson and Murphy are eccentric personas in their own right. There is one person who could give both of them a run for their money, Hollywood actor, Jim Carrey. Tyson and Carrey had even shared the screen for In Living Color.

Meanwhile, Davidson also had a rather intriguing story to share about his experience working with Carrey. In the same episode, he re-enacted one of Carrey’s antics while filming a scene. Davidson said, “He’s supposed to fall on the ground for a second. And get up and I’m supposed to hit him with sutures you know, right? So I’d say the line, right? And so he falls right, back, right? And he’s on the ground, right?”
