A victory followed by criticism – that is precisely how the boxing world reacted to Tyson Fury’s victory against Francis Ngannou. Even the man behind the man, John Fury, was critical of the undefeated boxer. In February of next year, ‘The Gypsy King,’ will grace the ring against his longtime rival, Oleksandr Usyk. However, his father gives a brutally honest assessment of this match-up.

His comments made headlines in the boxing world, and rightfully so, as it was least expected of him to be critical of his son. Though for all we know, he has a balanced perspective on the fight that demands attention.

Fury, in a recent interview, very candidly made it public that he is no longer a fan of The WBC heavyweight champion’s fighting style. Not to mention, he deems this style to be inferior and would not fetch the wins he did in the past and definitely not fetch him a victory against the Ukrainian.

Reflecting on the same, he stated, “The style I am seeing is no good… With the style Tyson has right now, he wouldn’t have beaten Wladimir Klitschko with that… Oleksandr Usyk is a tricky man, you have to be on your best to beat him. The style he’s got now won’t do the trick.”

Many boxing pundits and fans would find themselves in agreement with Fury here. Moreover, if you are a Fury fan, this revelation from his own father is something that he must definitely ponder over. However, ‘The Gypsy King,’ has proven to be cut from different cloth. Style or no style, Tyson Fury is not short of confidence.

Tyson Fury could not sound more confident

The 35-year-old is far from phased by his critics. It is evident after he claims he does not foresee Usyk beating him and finds himself to be levels above him and his previous opponents. In an interview, he stated, “There’s only me who stands in the way of him and his total domination of Europe. He’s beaten all the British guys, Chisora Joshua, Dubois, and there’s only me. We’ll see if he can beat me, which I know he can’t; then there’ll be nothing standing in his way of total domination.
