David Benavidez and Caleb Plant recently engaged in some heated trash talk during the final press conference before their upcoming fight. Benavidez took a shot at Plant’s past fights by saying, “You got knocked the f**k out by Canelo. So every time you fight a true Super Middleweight, he gets hurt. He gets hurt and he gets knocked out, so we’re gonna see you know, he’s gonna be in there with the true Super Middleweight. The hardest and most accurate Super Middleweight in this weight class, so we’re gonna see what’s up.”
Plant, on the other hand, tried to bring up Benavidez’s past fights by asking, “Did Ronald Gavril drop you?”. Benavidez responded with, “Yeah he [José Uzcátegui] almost knocked you the f**k out. No he didn’t drop me. Did Ronald Gavril drop you? Yes”. Before this, Plant even sent out a stern warning to David Benavidez. But, the exchange between the two fighters at the conference, was intense and shows the level of rivalry that exists between them.

David Benavidez is getting ready for his upcoming boxing match against Caleb Plant. He wants to keep his unbeaten record and WBC interim title by beating Plant. If he wins, the next possible opponent for him would be the champ, Canelo Alvarez.
At a recent workout, Benavidez said, “I’m ready to give the fans what they want to see. I’m going for the knockout on Saturday.” He knows Plant is a tough fighter, but he’s confident in his own power. He plans to break Plant down “little by little.” Benavidez also wants to have more pay-per-view fights and become a pay-per-view star.
