The result is in front of the fans finally after a long time of wait, as everybody saw David Benavidez overcoming the Middleweight boxer, Caleb Plant with a unanimous decision. But this was not the only fight that got fans on their toes this Saturday, there was another action-packed match in the Lightweight division, between Jose Valenzuela and Chris Colbert. Now, even though Colbert won the fight by a unanimous decision, it did not sit well with a lot of boxing fans. Even, the legendary boxer, Floyd Mayweather Jr., made bold claims about the unfair decision in the fight.
Both fighters were coming out of a loss, so this fight was supposed to be a shot at redemption for both men. Colbert even had to move up in his weight from Super Featherweight to Lightweight, for this fight. So the fact that he was not in his comfort zone, and still managed to secure a win, was commendable to a lot of fans. This fight will stay in the minds of many viewers for a long time, as they witnessed a true clash of warriors on Saturday.
Floyd Mayweather doesn’t support the final decision of the fight

According to the decision, Colbert won the fight by a unanimous decision, just by a single point on every decision card, 95-94. Most of the audience thought otherwise, as the moment the decision was announced, a major chunk of the audience was seen booing the fight results, as they expected Valenzuela to win after his splendid performance. But clearly, that wasn’t the case.
This even got ‘Money’ Mayweather talking about the fight. In a recent Instagram Post of Jose Valenzuela, his opinions regarding the result are revealed. In this Post, Floyd Mayweather can be seen taking a photo with Valenzuela, but in the caption, Valenzuela stated that Mayweather believes that the decision was quite unfair to ‘Rayo’.
He wrote in the caption, “‘You got cheated’-Floyd Mayweather“. So even, the famous undefeated boxer even felt that Valenzuela deserved the win against Colbert. Recently Mayweather also accused Canelo Alvarez of ducking David Benavidez.

In reality, the fight wasn’t that one-sided, as both fighters had their best game up against each other. There wasn’t the slightest second where anybody slacked off during the fight, as it was a match full of intensity, and came out to be a wonderful spectacle for fans all around the world.
Valenzuela vs. Colbert: The fight that exceeded expectations

The ten-round fight started with curiosity as there were a lot of questions looming around the bout, but it definitely ended differently. As everyone in the stadium had seen something so fierce and unexpected. Valenzuela seemed to be winning when he dropped Colbert in the first round, and it was still 30 seconds to the bell. But Colbert got himself together and came out in the next rounds with more focus and was seemingly more composed than before.
But in the last round, Colbert was again stunned by Valenzuela but the bell rang before he could land a finishing punch on Colbert’s chin. Nevertheless, the fight was won fair and square by none other than ‘Primetime’.
