Brian Mendoza is slowly making his presence known in the middleweight division. And he backed that up with an impressive performance against Jeison Rosario on November 5, 2022. While the fight was spectacular in itself. It was, however, his words after the fight that caught the attention of fans.
Mendoza faced Rosario at the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Moreover, they were the co-main event alongside David Morrell vs Aidos Yerbossynuly and Fiodor Czerkaszyn vs Nathaniel Gallimore.

It should be mentioned that Mendoza came in as the underdog in the fight. He had previously spoken about his excitement about the fight, saying, “The world is going to see a special performance on November 5th. I couldn’t be more ready to take advantage of this moment. All I’ve been doing these past 7 months is grinding and leveling up in the gym and I’m excited to show the world what I can do!”
During the fight, Mendoza downed Rosario with a body shot in the second round. And then he went on to repeat the magic in the fifth round with a brutal right uppercut. The referee, Mark Calo-oy, proceeded to stop the bout, making Mendoza the winner by knockout.

However, fans were rather intrigued by a tiny mistake that he made during the post-fight interview. Mendoza accidentally went on to address the crowd by calling the fight location, Mississippi. While, in reality, the bout had taken place in Minnesota.
He, however, quickly apologized by stating that he was disoriented after getting punched. Mendoza even took to Twitter to mention that ‘he had a little slip up’.
