“You Get Them Belts”: After Back And Forth With Claressa Shields, Alycia Baumgardner’s Recent Training Montage Leaves Fans Hyped Up

There is no certainty around the next fight for Michigan-based boxer Alycia Baumgardner. However, aiming at the blind, she has instigated Claressa Shields for one. Now, while she has received an apt response from Sheilds, she has put out a video on her X profile that hints at her being completely ready for such a fight.

In July this year, the 29-year-old fighter tested positive for the banned steroid mesterolone after her victory against Christina Linardatou. Baumgardener was quick to defend herself and iterated her innocence, opposing her suspension from the sport. Even though her private drug test came out negative, it wasn’t enough for the sanctioning bodies. Eager to bag her next match, she has turned to social media.

With Rojo by Sada Baby playing in the background, decked in a brown bodysuit, Baumgardner let the world know that her suspension had not stopped her from being on the up and up. She also looked ripped for someone who doesn’t have a fight lined up yet. At the tail-end of the montage, she noted to a person on the phone who asked her to be more diplomatic, “Ima talk my shit then we gon run the fade,” signaling that she’s going to get her fight her way. Fans were quick to acknowledge her efforts. One fan was impressed with what she had to say, along with an intimidating workout snippet.

Another fan reiterated her claim on the titles, stating, “LETS GO!!! You get them belts!!!”

Then came a question about her next stint in the ring with a fan asking, “When’s the next fight?”

A user invoked her undisputed status while noting, “Look at my Undisputed Champion go.”

However, another fan came with their attacks in hand, stating, “But with no steroids this time please.”

The video seems to have impressed some of her fans. But a pertinent question lingers – who is she preparing to fight?

Claressa Sheilds Responds to ‘The Bomb’ Fight

In an Instagram video, The Bomb called out Shields, who was among the few who rallied for her innocence during the steroid tests fiasco. She said, “I say yes, I will fight Claressa Shields and 147, make the fight.” In response, a baffled Shields chose not to bow down.

Expressing her bewilderment at why Baumgardner would call on her out for a fight, Shields noted, “And last time I checked, I always told people I wouldn’t fight Baumgardner cause we cool as hell, and I feel that same way bout Mikaela. I’d never fight Mikaela, she’s my Olympic sister. I’m just tryna figure out when did @alyciambaum decide she wanted to fight me?”
