Viral clips of Caleb Plant slapping Jermall Charlo during Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr.‘s weigh-in gobbled up as much limelight as possible. Ultimately, the fight proved to be a resounding success for most fans. While the’slapgate’ – a hogwash. It’s been months since ‘Sweethands’ suffered defeat at the hands of David Benavidez. While details of his next matchup remain unclear, the resolute Tennessean seems to keep himself busy with one of his lifelong passions: lowriders. But unfortunately, his latest update on Instagram only helped resurrect the memories of July 28.

Through his Instagram account, Caleb Plant said he will attend the Lowrider Super Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center on September 30. So he urged fans and followers to visit the booth where his 1964 Impala would be displayed. Despite the likes his pictures have received and the overall positive vibes of the comments, quite a few couldn’t help but take potshots at the ‘slap opera.’

One fan asked straightaway whether Plant would be fighting Charlo next: “You fighting Charlo next or nah?” But the next one augured that ‘Sweethands’ will witness Canelo Alvarez defeat Jermell Charlo. It resembles how the Mexican icon knocked him out in 2021. “He’s [going to] go see Canelo beat Charlo the same way he got beat…” the fan said.

Then, the following user seems curious. Lauding him for slapping Jermall Charlo, he wants to know between Canelo Alvarez and Jermell Charlo against whom he would go next. “@calebplant, yo champ, who do you [get]? Canelo or Charlo, btw, nice slap on the other boy.

But the next fan stayed true to the subject. Appreciating Plant for his efforts, the fan shared how his father, who maintained an unblemished record in drag racing, was a proud owner of a crimson 1964 Impala. “My Pops had a red 64 Impala with a 409. He was an undefeated drag car racer. Props champ.” The fan said.

The next user appears to be a die-hard fan. Calling Caleb Plant a true ‘warrior,’ the user admired the boxer. Even after suffering setbacks, Plant never ceased moving ahead. He proved his mettle and, in turn, won a ton of respect and applause. The user said, “Mad respect, champ! You are a warrior! After your losses, you haven’t been scared to step up! You earned mad respect and showed people that you [have a] heart!

Why did Plant slap Charlo?

Caleb Plant subsequently explained why he slapped Jermall Charlo backstage. So, according to him, during the July 28 weigh-in, he lost his cool when Jermall reportedly slighted him and kept pulling at his bear despite being told to stop. ‘The Hitman’ has yet to return to the ring. He last fought Juan Macias Montiel on June 19, 2021. He retained his WBC Middleweight title. However, Plant must return to the drawing board after losing his title to Alvarez two years ago and falling short to claim Benavidez’s interim title early this year.
