After Teofimo Lopez fought Sandor Martin last year following two arthroscopic surgeries, ‘The Takeover’ was spotted doubting his abilities inside the ring. Quite surprisingly, the 25-year-old asked his teammates if he still got it. Although Lopez out-boxed Martin in all three categories (body, jab, and power) in terms of punches landed, he was only able to score 24.8% of the total strikes he attempted that night.
Due to this graze on his accuracy, Lopez, returning from two surgeries, wondered if he still had a future in boxing. With his latest victory over Josh Taylor, Lopez made a statement out of Madison Square Garden in New York. Landing over 30% of his punches, the 25-year-old secured himself a UD win and said, “Are you there entertained? I’m just warming up. Hey, do I still got it?”
