Is Claressa Shields the greatest female boxer of all time? Let's hear your thoughts!

Claressa Shields can’t stop being awesome! The two-division undisputed champion just teased her upcoming biopic ‘The Fire Inside’, set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, then hit the big screen on December 25th. This comes right after her spectacular second-round knockout win over Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse last weekend.

Shields, 29, dominated Lepage-Joanisse to win a title in a fourth division to become the female WBC heavyweight champion. Despite this achievement, the highlight of her decorated career seems to be her upcoming movie, starring Ryan Destiny as Shields, written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Barry Jenkins. And let’s just say fans are excited.

In the past couple of days, several reports surfaced on the internet, revealing the first look from her biopic. So, Shields quickly took to X, writing, “I really got a movie about my life coming out 12/25 ‘THE FIRE INSIDE’”. The movie meets Shields as a high school student preparing for her big moment in the 2012 London Summer Olympics, while Brian Tyree Henry plays Shields’s coach Jason Crutchfield.

‘The GWOAT’ Shields’ won gold in the 2012 Olympics in London and also in the following 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, making her the only American boxer to win gold twice in a row in Olympic games. Since then, the Flint, Michigan native has achieved the undisputed status in two weight divisions and titles in four, all while maintaining her undefeated status alongside one of the best, if not the best, female boxers in the world title.

To top it all off, Ryan Destiny was ringside for Shields’ bout against Lepage-Joanisse—the duo was even captured on camera embracing each other ahead of the bout. Regardless, seeing Shields’ excitement with the tweet today, fans quickly came to her support.
