According to De La Hoya, this has even impacted the legacy of the unified champion. “We talk once every two weeks, just trying to get everything together so we can fight. It’s definitely going to happen. It’s taken some time, but it’s going to happen,” he said.

If the fight does happen, it will undoubtedly be one of the biggest events in boxing in recent years.
