Knock knock! Who’s there? Trouble. Trouble who? Trouble keeping Jake Paul out of the headlines! After a recent dig he made, the response has now arrived for Floyd Mayweather. Yesterday while on ‘The Tonight Show’ starring Jimmy Fallon, Mayweather seemingly brushed off the success of the blockbuster Jake Paul–Mike Tyson fight as nothing worth singing praises on. The series of remarks has now invited the wrath of the Problem Child who took the opportunity to slam the former five-division champion in heated diatribe.
While on the Tonight Show, Mayweather, trying to be honest, stated, “When you are watching boxing for free, you can have millions and millions and hundreds of millions of views. I did pay-per-view numbers. Check the records.” This snide remark, it seems, must have rubbed Jake Paul the wrong way because Paul today decided to fire back with a sharp retort.

Jake Paul promises to knock out Floyd Mayweather
The Problem Child took to his ‘X’ and replied to the viral clip posted by ‘Happy Punch’ from the NBC show. He exclaimed, “You bum. Deji gave you a black eye in an event that had 4,000 people in it. Deji hahahah,” referring to the exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather and the British YouTuber Deji Olatunji back in 2022. While the legend stopped the fight in the sixth round, he indeed left the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai with a black eye. Furthermore, it was definitely one of Money’s rare misses as it reportedly only did 20,000 PPV buys.
You bum. Deji gave you a black eye in an event that had 4,000 people in it. Deji hahahah. I would knock you out in 2 rounds and you can’t sniff Mike Tyson’s toe. https://t.co/j1pTQwOxNW

The self-proclaimed El-Gallo was not done as he continued, “I would knock you out in 2 rounds.” Jake Paul even decided to reply to Mayweather’s cheeky dig against Mike Tyson, claiming that Mayweather, “can’t sniff Mike Tyson’s toe.” Well, the Mayweather-Tyson is a debate that has divided the boxing community for years now. However, if we are using Deji Olatunji as a benchmark, the Londoner did leave Jake Paul with a bloodied nose – a feat that even Deji takes immense pride in. So, it looks like the scales are quite even if this fight ever happens.
Despite Floyd Mayweather dismissing the idea of facing Jake Paul immediately, no one can deny that this fight would attract numbers, especially if we see the history between the pair.

Another record-breaking fight in the making?
The rivalry between Pretty Boy and the Jake Paul began in 2021 during the build-up of the Logan Paul vs. Mayweather exhibition fight. Jake Paul took the build-up, which was already filled with trash-talking, up a notch at the official press conference. During the press event, The Problem Child snatched Money Mayweather’s ‘TMT’ cap in a move of utter disrespect which then snowballed into a vicious brawl.
The move immediately raised the stakes of the event. Aptly named, The Bragging Rights, the exhibition match, took place at Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium on June 6th, 2021. The bout lasted for 8 rounds without any winners. However, according to reports, the exhibition fetched more than $50 million through the pay-per-view buys.
Jake Paul also had his fight against Deji Olatunji on the undercard, one of his first forays into boxing. Given that the Paul brothers were still quite a new name in boxing, the $50 million business was quite astonishing. This begs the question, how much can a Jake Paul-Floyd Mayweather event fetch?

It would definitely surpass the Logan Paul exhibition given Jake Paul’s renewed stature in boxing. Furthermore, with Netflix in the mix, it might even break the views the Mike Tyson bout received. Furthermore, if Mayweather wants a PPV model, there should not be a problem as every network would take this fight without a second thought.
What do you think? Can Jake Paul deliver on his knockout promise if this fight happens? Or, as Floyd Mayweather said on the show, the fight would be “too easy”? Let us know your thoughts down below.
