Canelo Alvarez is the betting favorite in his clash against Jermell Charlo. However, a section of the boxing world, based on his recent fights, thinks that the 33-year-old might be on the decline. Only last year, Alvarez was handed his second-ever defeat against Dmitry Bivol. Thereafter, although victorious, he failed to stop a 40-year-old Gennady Golovkin. And, in his last bout, he couldn’t knock out John Ryder as well. It has been quite a while since Alvarez had another highlight reel moment in his celebrated career.
However, Alvarez has cut no corners in preparation for his fight against the junior undisputed middleweight champion. Ahead of the bout, he made some bold claims directed at his critics. So without further ado, let’s jump straight into his recent comments.

Will the upcoming bout be a resurgence of prime Canelo Alvarez?
Will Alvarez be able to prove his naysayers wrong? Can he dispatch his upcoming opponent in stunning fashion? The Mexican boxer will be competing under the ‘PBC,’ banner for the very first time. After parting ways with Eddie Hearn, his $100 Million association with Al Haymon’s promotion was made known to the public. It is reported that he signed a three-fight deal and will be facing Charlo first. In so far as the bout is concerned, Alvarez has been a lot more active this year and has a weight advantage. However, many of his critics think, ‘Saul,’ might be defeated come fight night.
Moreover, recently, Alvarez expressed his conviction to not just be the victor in his fight against Charlo but do it in stunning fashion. During the press conference for his upcoming fight, he asserted that he has no desire to brag about his skill set but is rather more interested in showcasing it. Reflecting on the same, he stated, “I can say a lot of things but I wanna show you on Saturday. I wanna show you on Saturday and you are going to see a different Canelo.”
