Rightfully titled, ‘Money’ Mayweather, the champ is known for commanding massive purses for his fights and appearances. Meanwhile, there were instances where he was accused by contemporaries of non-payment of dues. And, in what seems to be a dose of karma, Mayweather backed out of an international boxing tournament after the organizers failed to pay him.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. cancels his attendance at the event
Floyd Mayweather Jr. was invited to attend the event by Arnold Nododile, CEO of the promotional company J4Joy. Moreover, the event was reported to take place at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
But, fans were left disappointed as Mayweather announced that he will be backing out of the event. In fact, Mayweather also mentioned that he will be taking legal action against the event’s organizers.
Johannesburg-based attorney, David Feinburg, further sent Nododile a letter accusing him of not paying Mayweather for the same. In the letter, Feinburg said, “You have breached the agreement in a number of respects. Most notably by failing to pay our client the agreed fee for his attendance at the event. Which was due, owing. And payable to our client over a month ago.”
Additionally, he further added, “In addition to this, you have, without our client’s authorization, utilized our client’s name, image and likeness to promote the event. “
Mayweather also stated that neither he nor King Misuzulu were consulted before their pictures were used for promotions.
