Following worldwide coverage, undoubtedly, Will Smith will have a hard time leaving behind the ghosts of his infamous Oscar incident. ‘The Slap Heard Around The World’ invited severe backlash from both the film fraternity and fans. Talking about the same recently, comedian Chris Rock drew parallels with the former five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr. to take a nasty swipe at Smith.

Rock was performing at the O2 Arena in London. Notably, the performance was a part of his European stand-up tour with fellow comedian Dave Chappelle.

Smith had previously released an apology video after the Academy Awards slap incident. As a part of his act, Rock slammed the video. And even went on to call it a ‘hostage’ video.

Rock also mentioned that he was in pain after getting slapped. He paid tribute to ‘Money’ Mayweather while taking a dig at the ‘Ali’ actor. He said, “Yes, that sh*t hurt. He played Ali. I can’t even play Floyd Mayweather.”

The slap at the 94th Academy Awards on March 27th, 2022, sent waves across the world. While Will Smith faced massive backlash worldwide, he received support from the former five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

It is worth mentioning that Smith received the first Oscar of his career for portraying Richard Williams in ‘King Richard’. Notably, Williams is the father of tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams. However, his ‘Best Actor’ Oscar win was marred by the infamous incident.

Meanwhile, Mayweather took to social media to show his support for Smith. He posted a picture of the duo while also congratulating him on his Oscar win.
