A few years ago, Jake Paul created a huge fiasco when he stole Floyd Mayweather‘s cap. The incident happened in 2021 during the press event of Mayweather’s exhibition fight against Logan Paul. During the face-off, The Problem Child grabbed Money’s cap in a move of utter disrespect.
Three years later, the wheels have turned, and Jake Paul is standing in the same boat. After his victory against Mike Tyson, El Gallo went on to greet the fans. Out of nowhere, a random fan from the crowd removed Paul’s cap and threw it away. This incident left the fans chuckling as they enjoyed the former YouTuber being teased by the crowd.

The viral clip uploaded by ESPN Ring Side features Jake Paul going up to the crowd to meet the fans. The 27-year-old was giving an autograph to one of his fans. That is when a person behind the crowd stole the cap from Paul’s head and threw it away. Contrasting to the expectations, The Problem Child silently walked away and picked up his cap without creating any problem. This was not something that anyone expected, as Paul is known for his problematic behavior.

However, this incident has stark similarities to the time when El Gallo showed Money the same disrespect. A month before the Mayweather and Logan Paul scheduled fight, the duo came face-to-face for a news conference. During the event, the boxing hall-of-fame got into an argument with Jake Paul and called both Pauls “fake fighters.” Not only that, Pretty Boy even stated “I’m willing to fight both in the same night.”
These comments riled up the 11-1 boxer, and he grabbed Mayweather’s baseball cap from his head. The security had to intervene immediately as the 50-0 boxer started charging towards Paul. Jake Paul took the trolling to the next level as he posted himself getting a tattoo of “gotcha hat” on his leg.
What’s your perspective on:
Is Jake Paul finally getting a taste of his own medicine, or is the crowd too harsh?
Have an interesting take?
This disrespect to one of the most adored boxers of all time did not sit well with the fans. And now after 3 years, when karma struck and a similar incident happened with Jake Paul, they were not going to sit idly.
Fans Enjoying the Bullying Session
A fan wrote, “Bro getting bullied by the crowd 😂💀,” stating how helpless Jake Paul was in front of the crowd. The Problem Child was arrogant in front of Mayweather, but when the same thing happened to him, he was not able to do anything.
Another user wrote, “I watched this fight illegally, and I still want my refund 😭,” implying that the quality of the fight was not up to the standards. Many fans switched towards illegal streams during the event, as Netflix streams were lagging and buffering quite frequently.
Another user who was not a big fan of The Problem Child wrote, “Shoutout to that man!” who threw away the cap. The disrespect shown by Paul to the legends is not well received at all amongst the boxing fandom and it has made El Gallo quite a hated figure.

Another user who was enjoying the incident wrote, “Bro went to get the hat… he’s basically playing Fetch,” stating that Paul should have said something to the person rather than quietly going and picking up the cap again.
Amidst the sea of criticism, there was one fan who acknowledged Jake Paul’s marketing skills and wrote, “dude really said canelo needs him for a payday😂 jake definitely knows how to get people talking about him.”

After his victory against Mike Tyson, El Gallo called out Canelo Alvarez and stated, “Canelo needs me. I’m not even gonna call him out. He knows he wants a payday and he knows where the money man’s at.” He implied that this victory has elevated him so much that even the “face of boxing” needs him now. After all, no one can pay Canelo more than MVP and Jake Paul.
Whether Canelo will accept Jake Paul’s challenge or not. But in the meantime, do you think the hate that The Problem Child receives is justified or is it unwarranted? Let us know your thoughts down below.
