Ryan Garcia has launched a scratchy attack on Gervonta Davis and his mentor, Floyd Mayweather, via social media, accusing them of ducking serious fights ahead. A few weeks back, Garcia and Davis had verbally agreed to lock horns in their next appearances. However. ‘KingRy’ turned his attention toward bagging a fight against Manny Pacquiao, and Davis simultaneously hinted at moving to 126 lbs.
That said, Ryan Garcia may not face Pacquiao at this stage and seems to have moved over ‘Tank’. But, Gervonta Davis has already teased his weight shift and ‘KingRy’ turned to social media to mock the decision.

He posted some pictures from his Instagram handle and contrasted himself with the WBA lightweight champion. Moreover, Garcia taunted Floyd Mayweather and wrote. “He (Davis) learned it from the master himself… the one who knows when to accept the fight is when the opponent doesn’t seem as dangerous! Y’all make boxing half of what it should be!!”
The social media banter clearly intensified the situation between both the elite lightweights. However, it didn’t assure an in-ring collision as none of the parties has stepped up to officially seal the fight.
Not only did it stack the lightweight division, but it also deprived the fans of the biggest fights at 135 lbs for the time. But, Davis and Garcia share a heated rivalry and can lock horns for real in the professional run.

Ryan Garcia vs Gervonta Davis- How did the rivalry start?
As two of the prime unbeaten lightweights, Davis and Garcia have always had a competitive desire. Nevertheless, it was Ryan Garcia who initiated the call against ‘Tank’ this year.
Following a win over Luke Campbell for the WBC Interim title, Ryan Garcia could have called out the WBC champion, but he deployed his interest in Gervonta Davis. It went to Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin’ podcast, where the two had an interaction via face-time and seemingly agreed to face each other.

As of now, that collision seems to have faded away. However, if both of them remain undefeated, a collision may be inevitable. However, fans will have to keep a close eye on Davis and any comment from him regarding an official bout at a lower weight class.
