Boxing kingpin and arguably one of the greatest of all time, Manny Pacquiao, took to Twitter to extend his support after typhoon Goni reached the country Philippines.

Pacquiao took to social media as he shared his good wishes ahead of tough times for the country, which is at the epicenter of the disastrous typhoon. Philippines officials are calling it typhoon Rolly and have stated that it is one of the most devastating typhoons in recent times, with officials already calling it a “super-typhoon.”

Typhoon Rolly made landfall on Sunday morning, with officials expecting “catastrophic wind damage” after the gushing winds have passed and everything has settled.

The winds peaked at almost 135 miles per hour. Official reports also suggested that it could go up to 165 miles per hour. The joint typhoon which originated from the South China Sea is expected to hit Metro Manila – home to over 25 million people.

Manny Pacquiao’s trainer, Vice Mayor Buboy, also extended his hand to the current super middleweight champion. Pacquiao put forth several photographs where Restituto “Buboy” Fernandez is seen cutting a tree that has completely demolished a house.

Buboy Fernandez and a longtime friend of Manny currently holds the position of Vice Mayor/Deputy Mayor of Polangui town, Albay. Moreover, Pacquiao currently holds the position of Senator of the Philippines and is serving a 6-year term, which began in 2016.

The middleweight champion is the only boxer to become an eight-division champion in the history of boxing. However, Pacquiao’s work outside of the ring is equally commendable.

Pacquiao duly deals with the duties of the Senator and has always extended his support during tough times for the people of the Philippines. Earlier, Manny Pacquiao had also partnered with the Jack Ma Foundation. The boxing legend had donated over 50,000 testing kits to the state of the Philippines during the early outbreak of the coronavirus.
