Joe Fournier returned to action after over four years and took out the debutant boxer in Reykon with a second-round stoppage. Still undefeated, Fournier is now 9-0 as a professional, but is no longer an active pugilist. Although now he is a successful business entrepreneur, his love for ‘sweet science’ still prevails, and Fournier proved it tonight.

He landed the bigger shots right from the outset. The first round saw Fournier become the aggressor, while Reykon didn’t let his hands flow. The musician turned boxer just saved himself from being caught and took the fight to round two. However, Joe Fournier scored an early knockdown, advancing himself on the scorecard.

Although Reykon regained himself, he had little to offer. Sensing that, Joe Fournier stalked his opponent throughout and continued putting pressure on him.

Meanwhile, it could have possibly thrilled the fans, showcasing the real prowess of boxers. Despite being inactive for such a brief period, Fournier was still way ahead of a debutant celebrity puncher. While many claimed that he would have lost the spark, the 38-year-old silenced his critics tonight.

Unfortunately, Reykon had to depart with a loss in his professional boxing debut. However, his will to enter the ring might encourage several more to follow the same path. Despite suffering the one-sided loss, the musician will know what he needs to work on if he wishes to re-enter the boxing ring.
