Is Jutta Leerdam's influence on young skaters more impactful than her relationship with Jake Paul?

Winters are coming, and with it, ice sports are back into the fray. Sizzling cold, equipment creates a thumping sound when skaters jump on the ice and some performances with flair are on the horizon. And at the center of all this traction is Jutta Leerdam, who is back in training.

Leerdam, 25, is a three-time world champion and an Olympic silver medalist, who specializes in sprint events on ice. However, the Dutch speed skater is famous on the internet for being Jake Paul‘s girlfriend and has seized the limelight in the boxing world with her unwavering support for the American boxer. But this time, the tables have turned, as fans and Paul, 27, are in awe of her, as she showcased glimpses of her skills in her training session.

Leerdam turned to her Instagram handle and shared a clip of her warming up and a few snapshots of her sprinting on the ice. Along with it, the caption read, “Getting inspired, improving, inspiring.” But the favorite part of the training session for the speed skater was meeting young female fans, who look up to her and always meet her with enthusiasm.

Leerdam shared her experience in one of the Instagram stories, sharing a picture of her with fans and wrote, “When people ask me what my favorite part about skating is 1. inspiring and meeting the girls.” The fans were delighted to see their favorite athlete in action and expressed their candid opinion, as they turned to the comment section.

Paul, at 10-1, was among the first to take to comments as is with all of Jutta’s posts. He penned, “I’m lucky.” The two have been together since April 2023, and ‘Problem Child’ has been vocal about his affection towards Leerdam.

A fan praised Leerdam for her achievements and her accolades. They declared, “I like that you’re a talented speedstar. That’s cool. Too many people think that working out in the gym makes them special.” Notably, Leerdam holds a team sprint world record, which she made in 2020 and now represents Team Jumbo-Visma.

A user hoped for Leerdam’s training to go well. They commented, “Hopefully everything will go well with training.” Leerdam could have set her sights on the next edition of the world sprint skating championship, where she will try to clinch another gold next year.

Someone loved the interaction that Leerdam had with her young fans. They admitted, “Happy to see you. And so sweet with these girls.” Leerdam has inspired a generation of Dutch athletes to take up sprint skating with her international exploits and she continues to do so, as evident from her Instagram stories.

Lastly, a comment sent Leerdam wishes for the coming winter season. The comment read, “Best wishes for this new winter season. Sports, love and peace.” Leerdam might need these wishes, as her first hurdle might come in the form of the World Single Distance Speed Skating Championships in March.
