Sport like boxing calls for much more than simply physical stamina and quickness. It also requires resilience, strategy, and mental toughness. Every time they enter the ring, fighters put their bodies in danger because they are aware that one punch could alter the outcome of the match and their career. Rising boxing prodigy Ryan Garcia recently encountered this first-hand during his contest with Gervonta Davis.

While others criticized him for “quitting” after absorbing a body shot from Davis, some complimented him for his bravery. However, one world champion has defended Garcia and told his detractors to “shut up.” In a recent video, he discussed his own body shot experiences and the need for caution from those who have never engaged in combat.

Moreover, along with the video, in the caption of his tweet, he quoted Roger Mayweather. “Most people don’t know sh*t about boxing.”

“Most people don’t know what the f**k they talking, when it comes to boxing, people don’t know what the fu*k they talking about, that’s period. If you’ve never been in a ring, never been hit, shut the f**k up bro, you don’t know what you’re talking about,” Prograis said in his video.

He also talked about the pain of being hit with a body shot, which is what Garcia reportedly experienced during his fight with Davis.

“Listen, imma tell you, from experience, when you get hit with a fckin body shot, when your arm is all the way extended and you get punched with a fckin body shot, bro that shit f*kin hurt bro. I don’t know how Ryan felt, I don’t know how hard tank hit him, but when you get hit like that, the shit f*kin hurts,” he said.

Prograis acknowledged that Davis had timed his punch perfectly and hit Garcia while he was extended, but he also cautioned against rushing to judgment. “Please shut up people, you don’t know what the f*ck y’all talking about,” he concluded.

It’s simple for spectators to overlook the physical and psychological strain boxing places on its competitors. The advice provided by Prograis serves as a reminder of the value of appreciating the effort and commitment needed to enter the ring.
