Shakur Stevenson has introduced the young fighter to multiple opportunities. One of them happens to be ‘Money’ Mayweather. It started with Mayweather being curious about Davis. Seeing a new fighter who can put up a good show inside the ring, Mayweather wanted to nourish the talent. Davis looks up to the undefeated five-division world champion. So, naturally, when he was introduced to Mayweather at a training camp, he was elated. In addition, Mayweather’s warm and considerate attitude towards him just added the cherry on the cake.

From providing an empty gym for him and his brother for practice to calling him to keep a check, Mayweather acknowledged the potential that Davis shows. Davis said “Learning off of Floyd and him just actually like you know, texting me, calling me, checking up on me and stuff like that. Honestly, Floyd my favorite fighter of all time like, I was geek when he calling me, texting me, checking up on me, you know, closing the gym down for me and my brother so we can come in and train, you know. That’s one of my favorite fighters of all times so I was, I was geek when he was showing me that much attention, just that much of respect. Shout out to Floyd man, you a real one.” Seems like Mayweather just pushed up Davis’s respect for him.

With aspirations of a Davis triple-header event, the 24-year-old boxer has set ambitious goals. He aims to exceed the accomplishments of one of the greatest fighters of the past century. In an interview with Fight Post, Davis talked about his future plans. When asked how far he believes he could go, Davis’s goals are boundless. He strongly believes he can achieve it. Consistently featured on major televised events, fighting globally, and being part of a trio, not just on his own, gives him the confidence to surpass Mayweather’s legacy. While he and his team are dedicatedly working towards it, only time will tell if this dream come true as well.
