With Boxing Legend’s Backing, Devin Haney Shuts Down Everyone Questioning His Victory Over Vasyl Lomachenko

Devin Haney is tired of the fans taking jabs at him for his recent win. The reigning undisputed champion clashed with the Ukrainian professional boxer Vasyl Lomachenko, and since then, he has found himself in the cross-hair of numerous controversies. Haney emerged as the favorite going into this fight. Nevertheless, no fan expected the fight to result in the huge controversy it ended up in.

Haney retained his title against Loma, winning the fight via unanimous decision. But, this fight caused a stir among boxing fans, who expressed their disbelief at the result of the fight. Former champion Shakur Stevenson himself sided with Lomachenko after the fight. But, a boxing legend has come forward in favor of Haney.

Recently, Haney took to his Instagram to slam the boxing fans, who still believe that Loma was the one who won the fight. This is not the first time he has called out the supporters of Lomachenko. But this time, a boxing legend backed Haney’s win in the fight.

Boxing legend supports Haney as he slams fans

Recently, three-division world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Sr gave his verdict about the fight between Haney and Lomachenko.In an interview with Boxing Social, The legend claims that the result is correct and Haney is the deserving winner of the fight. This might come as a shock to the boxing world and many personalities who were supporting Loma.

Chavez gave his decision and claimed that without “sentimentality,” Haney won the fight. On his Instagram, The ‘Dream’ shared the statement the 60-year-old gave. And he added a message to the fans who still think that the Ukrainian deserved to win the fight. The 24-year-old wrote, “Chavez  said get out y’all feelings.”

This fight still proves to be controversial in the boxing world. And many fans might even want a rematch between the two. However, the fans were impressed by the performance Lomachenko was able to put up in front of the reigning champion, And that’s why many fans favored the 35-year-old to prevail in the unanimous decision.

Nevertheless, rumors of a rematch loom over both boxers’ heads.

Will there be a rematch?

Since the fight, the fans have been eager to know if there will be a rematch between the two and if ‘Hi-Tech’ will get a chance to redeem himself. But the possibility of a rematch is uncertain between the two. However, Loma’s manager filed a plea contesting the decision of the fight and is trying for Loma to become the mandatory challenger for Haney’s titles. But there has been no official announcement as of now.
