After last night, the super welterweight division seems to be picking up some major steam. Both Sebastian Fundora and Tim Tszyu might land one of the biggest fights of their career. Shawn Porter has jumped on the bandwagon early and predicted an opponent for each of them.

Last night, at the iconic T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas, Fundora managed to give ‘The Soul Taker’ his career’s first loss, by defeating him via a split decision. By doing so, he took Tszyu’s WBO belt, while also bagging the vacant WBC title. Now, on the pinnacle of success, he has a former undisputed champion eyeing his titles. Should Fundora listen to Shawn Porter and take on the champion, or go another way?

Terence Crawford or Errol Spence Jr.?

On X, formerly Twitter, retired former welterweight champion, Shawn Porter anticipated a fight between Fundora and Terence Crawford, while also hyping a clash between Tszyu and Errol Spence Jr. He wrote, “Tszyu vs Spence…Crawford vs Fundora…Winners vs Winners …154 is HOT!”

The anticipation comes after Crawford, the undisputed champion of the welterweight class leveraged his status as the WBO welterweight champion to be named as the mandatory challenger for the WBO super welterweight title. He emerged undisputed after he defeated ‘The Truth’ last year in a historic clash, taking away the latter’s belt in the July fight.

The two of them were to face off yet again in a rematch, which Spence Jr. called for by invoking the clause in their contract. However, he opted for eye surgery later, letting the rematch period elapse. Now, while ‘Bud’ is eyeing the WBO title at 154, Spence Jr. too has sought a fight against the winner of Tszyu vs. Fundora.

Both Tim Tszyu and Sebastian Fundora seemed more than ready to fight these big names of the welterweight class.

What does Sebastian Fundora have to say?

While not much has his team said about fighting Spence Jr., Fundora had ample to say about Bud and the Truth. Initially, when Spence Jr. called out the winner of their fight, The Californian told Fight Hub TV, “It’s good. It’s good. You know, he’s a big, it’s like Thurman. I want one of the guys. Why can’t I get one of those fights?”

However, when it came to making a choice, he wanted to fight Terence Crawford. However, he chose not to shoot down a shot with Errol Spence Jr. either. In a post-fight presser last night, he remarked, “Whatever they give me. Errol Spence is a great opportunity. I think it’s a match made in heaven but Terence Crawford is the best fighter in the world. I will like to fight him.”
