Bill Haney appeared in an interview with MMAFightingonSBN, where during one segment, he was asked by Ariel Helwani if fans will get to see him fight at 147 in the future. Haney shared his absolute confidence regarding Haney’s rise to the welterweight division.

He stated, “Oh absolutely, absolutely. He’s growing, you might even see him at maybe 54 later on in his career.” So not only does Bill Haney believe his son to reach 147, but he also predicts him surpassing the category and reaching Super welterweight/Junior middleweight as well.

This led Helwani to ask Bill Haney about the point at which he would want his son to stop fighting. Haney replied, “Well fortunately for him you know he’s been dedicated enough in the craft that he’s the boss. You know, Devin Haney Promotions is him. Ultimately, my goal as a coach, a trainer, and manager was to get him a life-changing payday… I wouldn’t be his best friend if that depended on me. I am just listening to him.”

Bill Haney holds his faith in his son to know the best for himself and is ready to abide by whatever decision his son takes. In the meantime, he has also sent a warning to Garcia’s bodyguard.
