In May 2024, Mike Tyson experienced an ulcer flare-up, 30 minutes before landing, while on a cross-country flight from Miami to Los Angeles. The incident caused him to feel “nauseous and dizzy”, leading to a medical emergency on the plane. Thankfully, medical staff on board were able to assist him. After landing, First Responders at LAX quickly met the American Airlines flight 1815 after which he was treated by the medical staff at the airport. Soon after the symptoms had subsided, he was released. During the follow-up, Mike Tyson was advised to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks in light of the flare-up.

After subsequent check-ups, Tyson assured fans that it was just an anomaly and that he was healthier than ever. He further warned Jake Paul and stated, “This may have bought you some time, but in the end, you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good,” in a determined fashion.

The Problem Child also understood the complications and agreed to delay the fight. He stated, “I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night.” He promised his fans a fight “for the ages” and assured them of his victory.

Tyson vs Paul on November 15 will consist of eight rounds of two minutes each at heavyweight with 14-ounce gloves for further safety. This will be Mike Tyson’s first professional bout since his retirement in 2005 and the Brooklyn native will be searching for his first victory since 2003. Tyson had an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020 and had an impressive outing proving that class is permanent.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul can be canceled again?

According to several reports, even though the 58-year-old has vouched for his health, he has not undergone an official medical test. With the recent hiccups, everyone thought that the 50-6 boxer would be under several restrictions to keep his health in check.

However, according to World Boxing News, Mike Tyson will undergo an official full medical checkup, just 24 hours before the fight. So, if the checkup reveals some serious concerns regarding the 58-year-old’s health, it might once again put this fight in jeopardy. It can not only put this fight in an exhibition category, but due to repeated health concerns, the officials might not even allow Tyson to fight altogether, resulting in the fight getting scrapped.
