Ryan Garcia fell off from his throne after he suffered a devastating loss at the hands of Gervonta Davis earlier this year. Since then, his life has gone through a drastic change as the fighter changed his trainer to Derrick James and even ended up in a lawsuit with Golden Boy Promotions. And now, finally, after months of preparation with the trainer of fighters like Anthony Joshua, Jermell Charlo, and Errol Spence Jr., he is finally going to make a return to the ring. According to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, Garcia will be fighting Oscar Duarte in a junior welterweight fight on Dec 2. However, surprisingly, the event isn’t going to be on PPV.

Garcia has fought 2 fights in the 140-lbs category prior to his Davis fight. Moreover, despite the ongoing conflict, Garcia and Oscar De La Hoya have managed to finalize this fight to take a positive step for Garcia’s career. Previously, the promoter had stated, “It is business as usual,” adding that they only have some issues pending between them, which should not hamper any progress. The fight against Duarte is a pivotal chance for Garcia to bounce back as he can then look for some big fights next year. De La Hoya had stated that he would love to talk to Bob Arum and look for a possible fight against Teofimo Lopez or some other option. As the beloved boxer makes his way back to the ring, what do the fans have to say?

In a surprising turn of events, Garcia is set to step back into the ring for a non-PPV (Pay-Per-View) event. This announcement has left fans both puzzled and vocal about their opinions on social media platforms. One fan pointed out how the “loser of a mega-fight” is not the one who makes a return to the ring first. He stated that they “normally go back to the lab & re-mix their potions a little longer.” He stated that Davis has more reasons to get back faster and capitalize on the huge momentum behind him.

Another fan questioned the claims about Garcia previously being called the “ppv star”. He then asked, “Isn’t that what everyone was saying after the Tank fight? Then why isn’t this on PPV?”

Someone else chimed in with a similar question, asking, “so why is he off PPV in his next fight?”

Meanwhile, a fan pointed out how the fighters trained by Derrick James have been losing so far this year. He joked that James, “might have the worst year possible after winning coach of the year.”

One fan looked forward to see if Garcia can break the losing streak for fighters getting trained by Derrick James.

Another fan joked that he thought Garcia was fighting De La Hoya next after reading Oscar in the post.
