In a surprising turn of events, Tyson Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion, has reportedly barred talkSPORT host Simon Jordan from attending his highly anticipated boxing match against former UFC titleholder Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This decision, as revealed by Shane Fury, Tyson’s brother, stemmed from critical remarks made by Jordan following the collapse of Fury’s fight with Oleksandr Usyk in March.
According to Shane Fury, talkSPORT and Simon Jordan would no longer have any involvement with Tyson Fury. They made it clear that Jordan’s comments were the cause behind this decision. Jordan, the former owner of Crystal Palace and host of talkBOXING, attributed the delay in the battle for the undisputed title in the heavyweight division to Fury and warned that the WBC champion would face widespread condemnation from the ‘whole world’ if he introduced another hurdle to the negotiations. Subsequently, Fury, quickly took to his Instagram to leave his thoughts. The targets were Usyk and Jordan.

Shane Fury has a message for Simon Jordan and talkSport
Back in March after reports of Simon blaming Tyson for the delay in the highly anticipated Fury vs Usyk match came to light, Tyson quickly took to his Instagram to leave colorful remarks. Notably, they aimed at Usyk, haters, and most importantly, Jordan himself. ““Simon Jordan you’re a little b****, no wonder you lost £100 million b****, wrong business you little sausage.” Consequently, Tyson Fury announced a ban stating that Jordan would not be allowed to attend the Tyson Vs Ngannou match, a mere 3 days away. Shane Fury, spoke to Boxing King Media and said that Fury wanted nothing to do with Simon Jordan or TalkSport, nor did he want them to come to Riyadh for his bout against Ngannou. “talkSPORT and Simon Jordan will never have anything to do with Tyson again,”
Fast forward to now, Simon Jordan, upon learning about the ban, expressed his disappointment. However, he clarified that he had no intention of attending the Ngannou fight in the first place.
“Can’t ban me from a fight…”: Simon Jordan
Simon Jordan made the ban somewhat inconsequential to him personally. Despite this, he acknowledged his mistake in questioning Tyson Fury’s determination to fight Usyk. “I’m disappointed. Shane Fury was saying, ‘talkSPORT are going to be banned’. Well, fine, if that’s what you want to do. You can ban me from a fight I didn’t want to go to.”
Jordan also expressed confusion about the hypersensitivity within the boxing community. Considering the immense bravery and strength displayed by the fighters, he found it strange that in a sport where athletes had to confront immense levels of physical and mental challenges, they reacted so drastically to negative comments. Jordan expressed his desire for a shift in the atmosphere. He hoped for one that was less toxic, where people could openly discuss matters without fearing backlash or succumbing to the recent trends of cancel culture.

“I don’t know why in a sport where you guys are so brave and so strong and do things that most people couldn’t even contemplate. The moment someone says something you don’t like people start crying,” Jordan said.
“Hopefully things will change, and everyone can be nice and friendly again,” he added.
Jordan mentioned that the words he used back in March might have been blown way out of proportion. Furthermore, he mentioned that he did not expect the outcome to be this dramatic. Finally, he also hopes that there is a change in the boxing realm, the one that sees everyone acting civil.
