Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury swayed the fans and put on a show for them as they ran it back again. The two heavyweight fighters put their bodies on the lines and fought it out for the three gold straps as the reward, and the fans, in return, witnessed a mouthwatering and thrilling encounter. But the dust has settled, the night has gone, and it’s time that both fighters go through a proper recovery period. That’s the reason you won’t be able to witness them inside the boxing ring for a while.
Usyk, 37, successfully fended off Fury’s attempt to exact revenge on him and topple him off the heavyweight throne. The two clashed on December 21 at the Kingdom Arena and unleashed heavy punishment on each other. The tussle went the distance, but it was the Ukrainian fighter who stood tall and swept the judges’ scorecards, which read 116-112 (x3) in his favor. Interestingly, a win or loss is not the only thing the two fighters are taking home with them. The package also includes a mandatory medical suspension.
The authorities will prohibit Usyk and Fury from fighting for almost a month, at least. They could also increase the length depending on the injuries sustained and the recovery time needed to heal. As there was no knockdown or serious cut, the fan could expect only a shorter suspension. Something similar to what Mike Tyson and Jake Paul had to go through. However, there is no official update as of now, as such, about the exact period Usyk and Fury would be sidelined.

It might affect ‘The Gypsy King’ more, who believed he had won the fight but couldn’t finish it strongly. The suspension might derail his plans and how much time he now wants to dedicate to his family. But what about his future?
Tyson Fury’s future hangs in balance after Oleksandr Usyk fight
Frank Warren touched upon the same when he appeared in the post-fight ring interview. He strongly condemned the fight, and it’s scoring. Besides, the promoter said, “It’s up to him. It’s too early to say. It’s immediately after a fight, and emotions are running high. But it’s nuts. I’m very disappointed, but it is what it is. He’ll make up his mind.”
In a later interview with 9Live, the boxing promoter didn’t shy away from hiding his anger. He also blasted the scoring in the fight. He declared, “One judge here did not give Tyson a round from round six onwards. That’s nuts. It is mad. Oscar De La Hoya had it one round from me. Split decision, and then this, this is nonsense.” It remains to be seen what call Fury makes for his boxing future.
