If you would have asked someone in the ’80s or ’90s about their favorite boxer, more often than not, the answer would have been Mike Tyson. The American fighter brought carnage and destruction inside the ring, and his heavy-handed punches ensured the fans had an exciting, action-packed fight. Among many fans who then got hooked on his penchant for knockout was Jake Paul‘s father—Gregory Allan Paul.

In a twisted play by fate, the Paul family’s patriarch can witness his favorite fighter fight live again and turn back the clock. But this time, the opponent will be his son. Tyson, 58, and Paul, 27, will fight it out on November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in an electrifying event. So, it’s a tough fight for the Paul family’s head honcho as well, as he is torn between his favorite fighter and his son.

Paul, at 10-1, shed light on the situation, as he expressed he was honored to face the former world champion. However, he also detailed how his father burst into tears after he broke the news to him.

Paul told Sports Illustrated, “To me, it’s an honor. It’s a win-win. I can’t believe it. My dad’s favorite fighter growing up is Mike Tyson. My dad cried when I told him about this opportunity. To me, it’s surreal and an iconic moment.”

Understandably, the Paul family lynchpin has some concerns for his son, which were also visible in a clip that ‘Problem Child’ shared on his social media in March, as the latter informed him about the coming fight. He had then said, “No way, dude. Are you f——g kidding me? He’s gonna be the hardest-hitting mother—–r you ever fought. Dude, holy f–k I’m gonna be freaking out.”

That’s not it. The former Disney star disclosed he had planned to box on the outside and use his footwork to dictate the pace and distance of the fight. He would then lure Tyson to chase him. That’s where he intended to launch an attack and catch him lacking. You throw into the mix his youth and speed, and he might cause trouble for the ‘Baddest Man On Planet’. But will it go down how he has envisioned? It remains to be seen.
