Anybody can be knocked out in the sport of boxing—it just takes the right opposition and the right punch! However, mixed martial artist turned boxer Anthony Taylor thinks KO-ing him is impossible. The California native mostly appeared in KSI’s Misfits Boxing events and that’s where he has gathered most of his achievements in the sport.

Taylor is currently on a two-fight win streak, having faced influencer Salt Papi and King Kenney in 2023, producing two unanimous decision wins. As for 2024, half the year has gone by, but Taylor hasn’t entered the ring once. Regardless, he hopped on X today to reveal the secret of not getting knocked out while roping in Salt Papi.

Anthony Taylor provides a unique analysis

In his tweet today, Taylor wrote, “The reason why I can’t get KO in boxing is because of my mma wrestling background”. It’s also worth mentioning that while Taylor has avoided a knockout loss, the reality is Taylor doesn’t have very many knockout wins either. The sole KO win in his record is against Juan Chavez in 2021, and let’s face it, no one knows who that opponent is.

Nonetheless, Taylor continued, “If you watch my fight with salt papi, I can get deep very low to the ground and even lower”. As per Taylor’s perspective, he can go down on the canvas to his opponent’s ankle level without letting his knees touch the canvas, hence staying conscious enough to not get knocked out.

That’s unique, to say the least, but picture this: a stray left hook makes its way to Taylor’s jaw, rattling his brain inside his skull and leaving him looking like he just got hit by a train. But Taylor’s brain is like, no! Losing consciousness is out of the question, so Taylor instead starts looking for his opponent’s ankle just to hover over the canvas. Meanwhile, the referee watches in horror! That’s obviously unrealistic, but who knows? Taylor may be able to do it.

His secret to not getting KO-ed aside, KSI seems to have an interesting proposition for Taylor.

On June 8, the YouTube sensation challenged Anthon Taylor and Slim Albaher for a 2 vs. 1 fight on August 31 in Ireland. Having fought and suffered his first career loss at the hands of Tommy Fury last year, KSI claimed he wants to challenge himself as he makes his return to the squared circle with this unique bout and both Slim and Taylor had 24 hours to accept the challenge.

In a clip shared by Misfits Boxing on X, KSI said, “I will be fighting Slim [Albaher] and Anthony Taylor in a 2 vs. 1 handicap tag team match. Both of you against me. You have 24-hours to accept. Let’s do this”. Since this challenge was issued, both Slim and Taylor have accepted the fight offer, claiming they will be the ones to deliver the winning blow.

So, can Anthony Taylor get knocked out, absolutely, despite what he says about his wrestling technique? However, his claims will be put to the test on August 31 as he takes on KSI alongside Slim. Do you think Taylor can be knocked out?
