Are the golden days of Floyd Mayweather‘s Mayweather Promotions now over? Will Mayweather Promotions no longer produce eye-catching fights? Well, these are some of the questions fans are dealing with following Leonard Ellerbe‘s exit as the CEO of Mayweather Promotions. Given Ellerbe’s dedication and close ties with Floyd, Mayweather Promotions prospered and promoted some of the finest talents in the sport, one of them being Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis. However, now that ‘Tank’ and Ellerbe have left, Jeff Mayweather, Floyd’s Uncle shed light on a complaint coming from the young fighters belonging to MP.
After Leonard Ellerbe, who worked with the company for years, made a “decision to step down“, Floyd Mayweather lauded Leonard’s “exceptional leadership and unwavering dedication” that nurtured MP. But, at the same time, he proudly announced MP was joining forces with finance expert Richard Schaefer to assure the fans Ellerbe’s decision would not affect his company.
However, Gervonta Davis, the biggest star MP once promoted, publicly abused Floyd Mayweather and forbade young fighters to sign with ‘Money’. “If you sign with this fraud..he will fu** up ya career…he’s not a good businessman at all,” wrote ‘Tank’. In this context, as Jeff Mayweather, trainer at MP, was told that MP lacked the prominence it once enjoyed. He said young boxers were not receiving fights.
