WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury isn’t really losing weight for his trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder. Instead, he might be heavier for the upcoming contest. In February 2020, Fury came in with a staggering 273 lbs against Deontay Wilder, who was somewhere around 231 lbs.

The extra pounds appeared to be beneficial for Fury as he could stop ‘The Bronze Bomber’ via TKO in round seven. Although several people may disagree, Tyson Fury’s trainer Sugar Hill believes his prodigy performs well in the heavier weight category.

On that note, Tyson Fury’s nutritionist George Lockhart has a massive role to play for the nearing Fury vs Wilder 3 clash. The renowned award-winning nutritionist has been with ‘The Gypsy King’ for a while and he has been taking care of the WBC champion’s diet for the ongoing camp.

In a recent PBC production, George Lockhart gave some massive insights from Tyson Fury’s kitchen. As for now, the heavyweight champion is consuming five meals/day, all week. And there’s no intention of trying to reduce any weight.

When asked to explain the decision, Lockhart said, “We actually went down in weight last camp. We got pretty low and then we talked to Sugar Hill. And he was like, he [Fury] performs better at the specific. You know, like heavier weight.”

Despite being counted out frequently for his out-of-shape physique, Tyson Fury has always been flawless in his professional boxing career. Having touched all the heavyweight world titles, he is already levels above Deontay Wilder. Meanwhile, his weight has been a prime factor amid all the success.

In a successful boxing career, ‘The Gypsy King’ has always been a heavyweight on the heavier side. That said, in 2018, he transformed himself from being 400 lbs to coming somewhere near 250 lbs at this stage.

Fury weighed around 254 for the Otto Wallin fight in 2019 and around 256 for the first fight against Deontay Wilder in 2018. But he took a massive leap in his last fight and those extra pounds can remain intact when we see Tyson Fury step up to defend his WBC strap against Deontay Wilder on October 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
