Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is stepping back into the ring after three years to face Uriah Hall on July 20th. It’s all going down at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, as part of the undercard for Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry. The last time fans saw Chavez Jr. in action was in December 2021, when he squared off against David Zegarra and clinched a unanimous decision victory.
But, man, it’s been a wild ride for him since then. He’s been dealing with some serious stuff, especially concerning his mental health. And earlier this year, he dropped a bombshell accusing his dad, the legendary Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., of domestic abuse against his mom, Amalia Carrasco. It’s been a tough road for the Chavez family, and there’s definitely a lot of history there worth diving into.

So, let’s talk about Amalia Carrasco, the amazing mom who’s been through a lot alongside Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. You might know her as the wife of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez, but she’s chosen to stay out of the limelight, focusing on finding peace after some tough times.

Their marriage wasn’t easy. They had three kids together, but there were serious challenges — Julio Cesar’s addiction, domestic violence, and a lot of tough decisions. Finally, in 1994, she made a brave choice to end things, wanting a better life for herself and her children.
Fast forward to the present day, her eldest son, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., has spoken up about her struggles. Chavez Jr. suggests she’s grown a lot but still carries scars from the past. He added that his mother was hesitant about speaking out after everything she’s been through. He’s been pushing for her to get professional support, knowing those years left deep emotional scars on her psyche.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. makes shocking revelations about his parents
According to a report from TMZ Sports in November last year, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. was treated at a psych hospital after his wife told police he took dozens of pills. So, in January this year, Chavez Jr. really stirred things up with some seriously heavy stuff about his parents, especially targeting his dad, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr.
In a wild TikTok video, Chavez Jr. went off with some intense accusations, claiming, “My father tore my mother to pieces, he beat her, he humiliated her, she is traumatized, she can no longer do anything.” It paints a really grim picture of what sounds like serious domestic abuse in the Chavez family, suggesting this isn’t some new thing.

But wait, there’s more. Chavez Jr. also accused his dad of wanting to harm him physically, straight up saying, “He wants to kill me, f**king bully.” Talk about a breakdown in trust and family ties. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. also claimed that he was basically kidnapped and forced into a treatment center. He also called out his wife, saying they were in cahoots to take him out, claiming, “They want to kill me, my dad is killing me, the lady (his wife) has wanted to poison me.”

Now, it seems Chavez Jr is finally in the process of overcoming his past traumas and working towards a better resolution. Hopefully, his upcoming bout will go well, and clear things up about his his past struggles with mental health.
