Meet Chris Eubank Jr.’s mother, Karron Eubank: Where is she now?

Karron Meadows, the first wife of boxing icon Chris Eubank, married him in 1990, embarking on a 15-year journey that saw the couple have four children: Chris Eubank Jr., the eldest, followed by Sebastian, Emily, and Joseph. However, the marriage was far from perfect, and it unraveled in 2005. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Eubank Sr. noted how the divorce came out of nowhere for him. “I didn’t believe it. When she said she wanted a divorce. I said, ‘You can’t be serious,'” he recalled. However, for Karron Eubank, the cracks had been forming long ago. In 2015, she revealed how living with the former world champion “was round-the-clock mayhem every single day.”

She vividly recounted a breaking point. Eubank Sr., out of nowhere, brought home a homeless man unannounced. She recollected, “It was like something out of the movie Down and Out in Beverly Hills. He just came in with this guy without any warning and said, ‘This is Max and he’ll be living with us.'”

That was it for her, and she filed for divorce in 2005. Since then, Karron has found love again, marrying Kris Meadows on October 8, 2011. The couple has thrived for over a decade, remaining steadfast supporters in their children’s lives.

Despite staying away from the limelight, Karron Meadows shares a healthy and deep relationship with her son Chris Eubank Jr. However, there was a time when the family almost fell apart.

Chris Eubank Jr.’s adoption story and stepmother

Few know that Chris Eubank Jr. and his brother Sebastian faced adoption as children. The 2005 divorce between Eubank Sr. and Karron Meadows fractured their family. Amid this chaos, a teenage Chris Eubank Jr. ran with the wrong type of crowd and started a car park brawl. It was like a wake-up call for Eubank Sr., who decided to move to America. Years later, a shocking truth surfaced: Chris Eubank had arranged for Eubank Jr. and Sebastian to be adopted by Irene Hutton, whom he met by chance in a Paris hotel in 2006. The adoption was supposed to be a secret. However, Hutton later appeared in The People magazine in 2008 to reveal everything. “It sounds incredible – and it is,” she shared.

“I have become the boys’ mother only after a chance meeting with their father in a hotel in Paris,” she revealed. Hutton revealed how she enjoyed spending time with the two kids, and they were even happier than they were in their own home at the time. “He was adamant that the entire adoption was kept secret, and initially, I agreed. But now, after almost two years of no input from him, I want the world to know what he is like,” she added, expressing her reason for revealing the story.

Hutton recalled the short conversation between her and Eubank Sr. and how the duo bonded over their divorces. That was the start of a friendship that would demand too much of her. “In July 2006, he asked if he could bring Sebastian over to America for a brief holiday,” she recalled. However, rather than a normal trip, it turned out to be life-changing experience as Chris Eubank Jr. accompanied his father and brother.

“Chris was really keen on the idea and within a few weeks, on September 22, 2006, he turned up on my doorstep with the two boys then left after a couple of days. He wanted them to grow up in America and wanted me to adopt them,” Hutton shared. By November 2006, she had become their legal guardian.

However, just two years later, the brothers flew back to the UK. Karron Meadows later revealed that the adoption was arranged just so their sons could get American citizenship for better career opportunities. She even labeled Hutton a “traitor” for revealing their arrangement.

Despite the strangeness of the setup, thankfully, Chris Eubank Jr. still maintains a pretty healthy relationship with his mother. And hopefully, with time, he can even mend his relationship with his father, which at the moment is a bit estranged.
