In a recent article, The Ring disclosed their ‘Prospect of the Year’ for 2023. It is none other than Bruce Carrington who knocked out Jason Sanchez in only two rounds in his last fight. Having cornered Sanchez, Bruce hit the former with a left hook followed by a right hand to end the bout.
Anyway, Carrington is currently undefeated in the sport with ten fights. And according to analysts and boxers, the 26-year-old is already a force to reckon with. Meet Bruce Carrington: A monster in Tim Bradley’s eyes

As an amateur boxer, Bruce Carrington won the New York City Golden Gloves in 2017. In 2020, he won the Olympic Trials and looked forward to winning a medal in Tokyo. However, in an unexpected turn of events, COVID changed his plan. As a result, in 2021, Carrington made his professional debut against Cesar Cantu at 127 lbs. Following a successful debut, Carrington won three fights in a row by knockouts. Gradually, ‘Shu Shu’ defeated the likes of Luis Porozo, Angel Antonio Contreras, and Jason Sanchez in the ring.
As of now, in professional boxing, Carrington, 26, has a record of 10-0-0 with six of his victories arriving by knockouts. ‘Shu Shu’ is an orthodox fighter and he stands 5′ 8″ tall. As per Tim Bradley, Carrington is “a monster” who has the maturity to supersede his age and the challenges offered by his opponents in the ring. In Bradley’s opinion, the orthodox boxer brings an “old-school feel to the game” and resembles former Heavyweight champion James Toney. As per Bradley, Carrington will travel a long distance with his patience and maturity in the sport. Anyway, after The Ring branded Carrington the ‘Prospect of the Year‘, the 26-year-old declared he would take over in the sport.

Carrington wishes to continue pleasing the crowd in his upcoming fights
Speaking to The Ring, the boxer from Brooklyn, New York revealed that he was a victim of bullying in school. However, Carrington also claimed that he was “good at defending myself” and would likewise beat up those who tried to bully him. Gradually, Bruce’s father noticed his son had the aptitude for fighting and brought him to a boxing gym.

After he was crowned the ‘Prospect of the Year’, Carrington said, “I’m super-ready to come up these ranks and prove to everybody that I’m the one everyone needs, I’m the one everyone wants to see.” “I’m ready to take over, little by little, fight by fight. I’m not in a rush. But [in] every single fight, you guys are definitely going to get a crowd-pleasing performance,” he added hopefully.
