In an interview with Brian Custer, Canelo Alvarez revealed the two fighters he brought on to his camp. The unified super-middleweight champion said (via a translator), “He has sparred with Ronald and Rashidi Ellis. They are both brothers and they have been with him during this training camp.”

Ronald Ellis is a 32-year-old super-middleweight with a record of 17 wins, 2 losses, and two draws. Ellis most recently fought former WBC champion, David Benavidez, earlier this year. ‘Akeem’ lost by way of TKO in the 11th round of their WBC super middleweight eliminator.

Rashidi ‘Speedy’ Ellis is the younger brother of Ronald Ellis. Rashidi Ellis in his own right is a top welterweight prospect with 23 wins and 0 losses. A 28-year-old welterweight prospect with championship ambitions, ‘Speedy’ is signed by ‘Golden Boy Promotions’.
