Shakur Stevenson is a name that’s caught up in multiple fiascos. Whether it be Devin Haney or Frank Martin, ‘Sugar’ leaves no leaf unturned to make his stance clear. Furthermore, he has made recent media appearances to clarify his viewpoint about significant issues. He recently unraveled the truth behind how Haney’s team mishandled their purse split, ultimately leading to the fight’s cancellation.

Moreover, after negotiations with Haney failed, Martin was supposed to fight Shakur. However, Martin, too, pulled out. The speculated reasons were his fear of losing his undefeated record. But, in recent news, Stevenson called him out for asking 50/50 purse split. So, now, Stevenson will battle Edwin De Los Santos for the WBC lightweight title on November 16th. Moreover, in an exciting turn of events, ‘Sugar’ revealed that he wants to fight Gervonta Davis, known as the “Face of Boxing.” He believes a win could entice Davis to fight him. In a recent interview with Million Dollaz Worth of Game, ‘Sugar’ discussed multiple things, including his supposed fight with Haney. So, one such discussion was about Gervonta Davis. Stevenson expressed his wish to fight Davis. Davis, however, has avoided defensive fighters like Stevenson before.  Stevenson admits he’s not a pay-per-view draw like Davis. If he can’t get a fight with Davis, Stevenson considers moving to the 140-pound division, like Devin Haney.

Thus, when the interviewer asked him, “What’s stopping that fight?(you vs Tank)”  Stevenson replied by saying, “I don’t know, I can’t tell you. I’m not Tank. He’s the big PPV star. Who am I to throw offers to the biggest star in boxing? That will have to be on their part to wanna do that(to send an offer). I would love that fight, I think that’s the best fight in boxing and I wanna prove to the world who I truly am”
